A Visit To Indian Coffee House, Jaipur
Greeted by the familiar clatter of cups and quiet conversation, the Drava team visited one of Jaipur's oldest coffee spots, the décor is minimal with old wooden chairs and tables that have likely hosted countless stories and debates over years.
The Indian Coffee House in Jaipur opened its doors in the mid- 1960s, located in the heart of Jaipur, it has served many since. The roots of the Indian Coffee House trace back to the British colonial era, when coffee houses were established by the Coffee Board of India in the 1940s.
These establishments served as popular meeting spots for the educated folks, including writers, artists, journalists and politicians. Over the years it has served as a gathering place for a diverse group of people, including students and locals seeking a respite from the city's hustle and bustle.
The Jaipur branch, like its counterparts, retains a simple yet charming ambiance, reminiscent of a bygone era. It has been a silent observer to many discussions, a place where ideas have been exchanged and movements have been born.
Despite changing times, it has managed to retain its old-world charm. This reminded us of what Drava truly stands for - the simpler times. A place where past and present blend seamlessly over a cup of perfectly brewed coffee.
